If you like sports, you’ll like Cedar Rapids. We’re home to a minor league baseball team in a beautiful stadium, a fierce U.S. Hockey League team, an award-winning waterski team, state volleyball and tennis tournaments, swimming championships, golf tourneys, and everything in between.

  • The Cedar Rapids Kernels, Cedar Rapids’ Minor League baseball team, are a Class A affiliate of the Los Angeles Anaheim Angels. Their season runs from April through August, and they play home games at the Veterans Memorial Stadium. In 2007, Baseball America ranked the Angels’ Minor League talent in the top five of all baseball teams for the fifth consecutive season. http://www.kernels.com/
  • The RoughRiders, Cedar Rapids’ U.S. Hockey League team, play at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena from October – April each year. The RoughRiders have enjoyed eight consecutive winning seasons and have qualified for the USHL Clark Cup playoffs for each of the last eight years. http://www.roughridershockey.com/
  • The Cedar Rapids Rollergirls, are the area’s own roller derby team. The team formed in 2008 and began its opening season in April 2009.
