Linn County Mayors' Bike Ride Labor Day at Ellis Park
The annual Linn County Mayors' Bike Ride, sponsored by Linn County Trails Association (LCTA) and the City of Cedar Rapids, will be on Labor Day, Monday, September 6, 2010. The 8 mile route will start and end in Ellis Park (Cedar Rapids), go through downtown Cedar Rapids, Cedar Lake Loop Trail, Ellis Trail and Time Check neighborhood.
Paramount Theatre Restoration Featured at Upcoming City Event

U.S. Cellular Center Receives 2009 Prime Site Award
The U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, received a 2009 Prime Site Award of Excellence from the Facilities Media Group for venue excellence. City of Cedar Rapids to Begin Design for New Events Center Project
On July 27, the Cedar Rapids City Council hired an architectural and engineering design team to begin designing the new Cedar Rapids Events and Convention Center project. Lead by OPN Architects of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the team includes Ellerbe Becket of Kansas City, MO and tvsdesign of Atlanta,GA.
'Welcome to our District' Mural Project in Czech Village Under Way
The Czech Village/New Bohemia Main Street District is sponsoring two new "welcome to our district" murals. The first mural, scheduled to be painted August 19-22, will be installed on the former Bartunek's Building at the corner of C Street and 16th Avenue SW.

Fireball Run Charities Confirmed; Registration Deadline Approaching
One of the largest transcontinental motoring events in America, Fireball Run is a nine day, 18-city, 3,500-mile "adventurally." The 2010 American Heroes Challenge begins in Henderson, Nevada on September 23 and ends in Galena, Illinois on October 2. Cedar Rapids was selected as an official over-night, "Destination" city for this one-of-a-kind event and will play host to the over 150 participants on October 1 and 2.
