IGHSAU State Volleyball to be held in Cedar Rapids 2012-2016

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - The Cedar Rapids Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CRACVB) is proud to welcome the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) State Volleyball Tournament back to Cedar Rapids for the next five years. The annual event will be held November 7-10, 2012, at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena and return to the U.S. Cellular Center beginning in 2013 through 2016.
The tournament has an estimated economic impact of $1.8 million in direct spending and had been held in Cedar Rapids since 1991. Direct expenditures may include lodging, food and beverages, gasoline, souvenirs, admission fees, entertainment, or other retail goods.
"The IGHSAU State Volleyball Tournament is a great boost to our local economy each fall. We look forward to welcoming it back to Cedar Rapids," said Marilee Fowler, president & CEO of the CRACVB.
