JLCR and CRACVB Announce Title Sponsor and Location of Duramed FUTURES Tour Event!
Junior League of Cedar Rapids (JLCR) and the Cedar Rapids Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (CRACVB) announced today that Titan Tire Corporation has been named the title sponsor for the Duramed FUTURES Tour event in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The sponsorship is for three years.
The 54-hole Ladies Titan Tire Challenge will be contested June 5-7, 2009, and will feature a purse of $110,000. The event which is being hosted by the Junior League of Cedar Rapids will be staged at Hunters Ridge Golf Course in Marion, just outside of Cedar Rapids. Top prize for the tournament winner will be $15,400, with $11,000 going to the runner-up. The event will be part of the Tour's five-state "Midwest Swing" of tournaments held within the Central United States.
JLCR, the CRACVB and the Sports Tourism Advisory Committee successfully attracted the Duramed FUTURES Tour to the Cedar Rapids area earlier this year. The Duramed FUTURES Tour requires all proceeds from the tournament to benefit a not-for-profit organization in the host community. As the local organizer of the event, JLCR plans to use proceeds to support their current community project partner, The Arc of East Central Iowa, with renovations to their first floor.
