Coe College

Coe College is a private, four-year residential, liberal arts college. Coe is located near downtown and has a variety of meeting rooms and dorms that can be used during summer months. The auditoriums seat between 250-1,100 and the dining hall has 460 seats. The Clark Alumni House contains an elegant conference room that can set up to 25, a dining room hilighted by a domed glass ceiling, and four guest suites. The Clark Alumni House will accomodate up to 150 for a reception.


Hawkeye Downs Speedway/Fairgrounds

The Hawkeye Downs Fairgrounds is a multi-purpose facility. Hawkeye Downs hosts the Hawkeye Downs Fair each year in addition to weekly Bingo, concerts, trade shows, animal shows, manufacturer and retail shows and a variety of other events. The Hawkeye Downs Fairgrounds also includes a camping area, a motocross track, the Hawkeye Downs Speedway, various livestock show arenas and livestock barns. There are 950 guest rooms within one-half mile of Hawkeye Downs. The speedway features a 1/4 to 1/2 mile asphalt racetrack and seating for 7,000.


Kirkwood Community College

The main campus of Kirkwood Community College covers 320 acres of Iowa countryside located near the intersection of I-380 and Highway 30 on the southern edge of Cedar Rapids. The campus consists of 26 modern buildings that house classrooms, laboratories and lecture halls. Kirkwood's campus offers several audiovisual-equipped meeting rooms with seating capacities of up to 200. The 400 seat Ballantyne Auditorium is also available for larger groups. The campus is also an ideal meeting location for agricultural groups. Completed in may 1998, the Tippie Beef Education Center has been host to judging contests, cattle and sheep shows, and educational seminars. The 8,600 square-foot facility includes:

  • 125' x 72' heated concrete arena
  • Stalls for 300 head of cattle
  • Ceiling-mounted fans
  • Portable bleachers for seating up to 300
  • 2 meeting rooms with 35 seats each

To meet the needs of a growing horse industry, Kirkwood has added a new equestrian center to its campus. The center is heated and offers bleacher seating, and offers a natural riding floor in horse arena. The center also offers:

  • 100' x 200' indoor show arena with 240 seats
  • 130' x 300' lighted outdoor arena
  • 27' stall stable and 2 tack rooms, a stock veterinarian and farrier area, wash racks, lockers, storage areas for machinery, hay, grain and bedding
  • Air-conditioned concession area
  • Modern classrooms
  • Parking for 200 vehicles

The Kirkwood Training and Outreach Services Center (KTOS) is a full-service training and education center uniquely designed to facilitate business. The U.S. Cellular Center located in downtown Cedar Rapids is connected by a skywalk system to restaurants, hotel, shopping and parking for the convenience of your participants. The Center is easily accessible from all parts of the State through service of a major interstate thoroughfare and several state highways and surrounded by over 3,200 parking spaces in the immediate area. The Eastern Iowa Airport is only a short drive away from the U.S. Cellular Center and is serviced by many major airlines. The U. S. Cellular Center offers 30,000 square feet of open space on our main level, which can be configured to meet your specific needs. Veterans Memorial Coliseum

The Veterans Memorial Coliseum is located on May's Island in Cedar Rapids, along with City Hall and the Linn County Courthouse. The facility has numerous memorials to American Veterans including the Grant Wood stained glass window, which depicts U.S. Soldiers from the Revolutionary War through WW1 as a memorial to their sacrifices. The coliseum is accessible from Interstate 380 and Highways 30 and 151, and is a ten minute drive from the Eastern Iowa Airport. The underground parking ramp provides for 138 spaces with additional parking on the bridges. The coliseum's combined meeting space totals 18,000 square feet.
