- Timothy Hankewich, now entering his fourth season as music director of Orchestra Iowa, has signed a three-year extension to his contract which will keep him with the Orchestra through the 2011-2012 season, and ceremonial return to the Paramount Theatre.
- The Race to Recover America's Missing Kids Rallys to Cedar Rapids!
- The Cedar Rapids Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, in partnership with the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and Priority One, today announced Cedar Rapids as the sixth destination stop in the Fireball Run's Race to Recover America's Missing Children, a national awareness campaign for Child Rescue Network. Teams will "finish line" September 30, 2010, between 4:00 and 6:00 PM CST. The public is welcome to watch as the Cedar Rapids Mayor and other community leaders welcome teams en route from California. The public is welcome to join the Cedar Rapids Mayor waving the green flag the next morning, October 1, at 9:00 AM CST as teams will "Start'" on their way to Illinois.

- The City of Cedar Rapids invites all Cedar Rapids residents to join the Community Facilities and Parks & Recreation public participation processes. The City is combining these two public participation processes to make the events more convenient for residents.
- City of Cedar Rapids publishes Neighborhood Reinvestment Action Plans
- On June 15, the City of Cedar Rapids published the community's Neighborhood Reinvestment Action Plans on www.CorridorRecovery.org. The online action plans will provide residents with an opportunity to track the implementation of neighborhood recovery and reinvestment projects. The Action Plans are categorized by the North, Central, and South Areas of the Neighborhood Planning Process and organized in a user-friendly database to make it easy to track progress on any of the 159 projects.
